Leavine Family Racing Suffers Race Shop Fire

While crewmembers were preparing their No. 95 Ford for practice at Kansas Speedway this morning, firefighters were battling a blaze at Leavine Family Racing’s Concord, NC, shop that heavily damaged the building and destroyed four race cars.

Crews from the Harrisburg and Concord Fire Departments encountered flames and heavy smoke when they arrived at on scene just after 7 a.m., and battled the blaze for nearly 90 minutes before bringing it under control.  

"We can confirm there was a fire at our Concord, North Carolina shop last night," the team said in a written statement this morning. "Luckily, no one was injured. We are working with the fire department and local officials to determine what happened. We've heard from the fire department there was significant damage to the back of the race shop. As you can imagine, we are still working to assess the full situation." 

The officials told WSOC-TV in Charlotte that the cause of the fire remains undetermined, no injuries to firefighters or team personnel were reported.
