Watkins Glen Debuts New Paddock Tailgate Park

Watkins Glen International has long been known for its pre- and post-race tailgating and this season’s Cheez-It 355 at The Glen will continue that tradition.

WGI announced today that it is launching a new tailgating area for race fans, The Paddock Tailgate Park. Located in the North Paddock area, the Paddock Tailgate Park overlooks the existing Turn 1 Tailgate area behind the Pit Terrace Grandstand on the infield.

“It is all about the fans at WGI and we know that our fans love to camp and tailgate,” stated Michael Printup, President of Watkins Glen International. “I have had the chance to personally meet a few of our tailgaters each year during the NASCAR weekend and I know they will be thrilled with this new section.”

For $250, customers purchasing Paddock Tailgate Park will receive one vehicle pass and 10 wristbands for guests to enter the new tailgate area. Track admission is sold separately. Each spot is paved and measures 15 x 40 feet. Paddock Tailgate Park will be open Friday through Sunday 8 a.m. until one hour after on-track activity ends. There is no camping or overnight parking in Paddock Tailgate Park.

Paddock Tailgate Park fans are encouraged to take advantage of seats in the Pit Terrace Grandstand.  Each adult Pit Terrace seat will receive a free FanVision rental. FanVision is a handheld device that provides in-venue content for fans at Cheez-It 355 at The Glen. With FanVision, fans can enjoy live at-track broadcasting, up to eight in-car cameras, audio and video instant replays and much more! FanVision rentals are available for fans throughout the facility at an additional cost.

Located within 300 miles of 25% of the US population, Watkins Glen hosts the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen on June 26-29, as well as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Cheez-It 355 and Nationwide Series Zippo 200 at The Glen August 7-10. Tickets are available by calling 866.461.RACE or at www.TheGlen.com.
