Colvin Earns Invite To Diversity Combine

Amber Colvin has been selected to take part in the 2012 NASCAR Drive 4 Diversity Combine to be held at Langley Speedway October 18-20.

Drive for Diversity is a NASCAR diversity program that gives minority and female drivers an opportunity to compete in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series and K&N Pro Series East. The instruction, seat time, experience, knowledge, and direction the drivers receive can serve as a stepping stone to bigger and better things, including opportunities at higher levels of the sport.

A total of 25 drivers are chosen from several hundred applications to take part in the combine and compete for 6-8 positions on the Drive 4 Diversity roster. They will be tested on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) car control and knowledge, ability to receive instruction, consistency, speed, marketability and attitude.

Competing for Drive 4 Diversity's house team, Revolution Racing, in Legends Car and Late Model competition this season, Colvin finished fifth in the points at the highly competitive "Summer Shootout" at Charlotte Motor Speedway, before collecting one Top-5 and four Top-10 finishes in the first five Late Model starts of her young career. In total, she recorded one win, 14 Top-5 and 19 Top-10 finishes in 23 starts this season, and says she is thrilled to be invited to take part in the D4D combine.

"I have been waiting for this announcement all year," she said. "Now, I get a chance to display what I have learned, along with my desire to continue learning."
